I grew up surrounded by the hum of creativity - my earliest memories are of playing and drawing in my father's architecture studio in Mexico City, which followed the latest tendencies of the 60's and 70's, like Op Art and Geometric abstraction.

He was my first mentor, teaching me to see the world through  lines, textures, and the vibrant colors of our culture. His work - shaped by prehispanic art and the bold spirit of the 1968 Olympics - left a deep imprint on how I experience  and create art.

 My journey has always been about exploring the space between the organic and the constructed

Inspiration

"I find my inspiration in our surroundings, from the smallest detail of a cactus, to light reflections on a metal table after the rain". 

 "Exploring the world, nature's shapes and colors lure me to get closer, observe, explore and capture them with my camera, taking them with me like a treasure. Back in my studio, infinite possibilities reveal themselves as I play with light, shadows, colors and shapes until discovering how they come together in new creations".

Career highlights

With deep roots in Mexico, I am greatly influenced by our ancient cultures, stone patterns and geometric designs, magnificent temples and pyramids, textile patterns, ceramics and popular art. 

I received my formal education at the Corcoran Gallery of Art and Design in Washington D.C, and Composition with Trinka Margua Simon at the Smithsonian Institute.

International Portfolio reviews and critiques, and working with the amazing team at the Baga06 Gallery in Mexico City,  provide ongoing challenges to my workflow.

My work is rooted in mindfulness: it’s about pausing, noticing, and inviting others to see the extraordinary in the everyday.
